Patricia Torres

Assistant Professor of Marketing.

I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Richmond. I have earned my Ph.D. at Florida International University in 2021. Prior to joining the academic world, I worked in the banking industry. This experience sparked an interest for financial decision-making research. My dissertation focuses on understanding how the self-concept, more specifically self-motives, impact personal financial decision-making. My research interests include consumer financial behavior and decision making, goal pursuit and motivation, culture and branding. I am passionate about the transformative power of education. As such I am a firm believer that, with the right guidance, any student can reach the full potential of their academic excellence.
